Ashli Babbitt's mother was arrested at the hands of Capitol Police during Jan. 6 protests
Ashli Babbit passed away when she was shot dead by an U.S. Capitol Police officer on Jan. 6 as she tried to get into the Speaker's office.
Micki Witthoeft is the mom of Ashli Babbit who was shot by police in the January. 6 2021 riot, was detained on Friday afternoon at protests marking the two-year anniversary according to police.
Witthoeft who is 58 is charged with traffic violations According the U.S. Capitol Police, who reported that she was detained and released on Friday.
Officials stated that Witthoeft along with others were walking along one of the streets near the Capitol when the police ordered the crowd to get off of the street.
Witthoeft was detained at the border of Washington on Friday for refusing to leave the sidewalk during a demonstration to mark the anniversary of two years the two-year anniversary
Babbitt 35, who was shot by an Capitol Police officer while she tried to get into the lobby of the Speaker on Jan. 6.. She then passed away in the Washington, D.C. hospital.
