Zack Snyder’s “Rebel Moon” is set to release on the same day in the same way that Netflix Releases 2023 Teaser Slate

Netflix has announced a release date for the Zack Snyder film Rebel Moon. The space adventure will be released in December. 22, on Netflix’s streaming platform, Netflix revealed Wednesday as part of a wider overview of its 2023 plans.

Snyder originally came up with Rebel Moon as a potential Star Wars feature more than a decade ago. This was before Disney purchased Lucasfilm at the end of 2012. “This was me growing into an Akira Kurosawa fan, a Star Wars fan,” Snyder stated to The Hollywood Reporter in July 2021. “It’s my passion for science fiction and an epic adventure. My dream is that this can also become an immense IP and a world that can be expanded.”

Snyder began his career with Netflix with the zombie-themed feature Army of the Dead, which was released in 2021. Snyder is now creating a universe inspired by the concept as well as the universe that is Rebel Moon.

Rebel Moon picks up at the outer edge of the galaxy as a peaceful colony is attacked by the armies of the oppressive Regent Balisarius. The colony sends a young girl known as Kora to search for the warriors of other planets, to assist them in making the necessary stand.

The film features Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman Bae Doona Ray Fisher, with Charlie Hunnam and Anthony Hopkins as voices. The film also features Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Jena Malone and Fra Fee. Snyder wrote the script along alongside 300’s Kurt Johnstad and his Army of the Dead scriptwriter Shay Hatten.
